The Chicago Cubs spiced up spring training Wednesday with a little bit of extracurricular activity: a clubhouse scuffle between pitcher Carlos Silva and third baseman Aramis Ramirez. That’s always good for team bonding, right?
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the punch-free fight started after a three-error first inning. The paper reports that several accounts have it that Silva started the fight "by jawing about the errors behind him in the first inning," which included a pop-up that Ramirez dropped.
Manager Mike Quade will have a team meeting Thursday and hopes that maybe the fight lit a little fire under his players. "Maybe that’s what we freaking need," Quade said, according to the paper.
