Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington says third baseman Adrian Beltre may take to the bases as early as Saturday as he continues rehabbing a nagging hamstring ailment.Beltre has already taken fielding and batting practice over the past two days, but the stiffest test will come when he begins running at full speed. Beltre isn’t satisfied with the progress of his injury, which has kept him out of action for nearly a month.Beltre attempted to run two weeks ago, but aggravated the injury and was shut down as a precautionary measure.The 32-year-old has been one of the club’s best players when healthy, batting .276 with 20 homers and 76 RBIs in just 388 at-bats.
