AJ Burnett is such a bad-ass. Even if the Pittsburgh Pirates don’t improve upon their recent misfortunes in 2013, their fans are lucky that Burnett is still anchoring the team’s staff. In order to remind the fans of how fortunate they are to have acquired Burnett, the Pirates are giving away the incredible t-shirts you see above before Friday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds. Can you think of a better giveaway than that? Prizes like this team-branded waffle iron and this Coco Crisp bobblehead doll come close, but nothing beats a T-shirt that features Burnett rocking sunglasses and throwing up a BAMF hand signal. The dude has it all, and if you don’t believe me just check out this GIF that Getting Blanked passed along: Are we done here? Game, set, match. Fist pound to Big League Stew

A woman was hit by a home run ball, while her boyfriend saw it coming and stepped away from it, during Tuesday night’s Arizona Diamondbacks game at Chase Field.
It happened in the top of the seventh inning as St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Pete Kozma hit the home run to the stands in deep center field. The woman ducked for cover in her seat, while her boyfriend decided to protect himself and stepped away, rather than protecting his significant other.
As a result, the woman was hit on the right side of her face (or neck – it wasn’t clear from the video). The woman did get checked out by stadium staffers, but fortunately did not appear to be seriously hurt. However, this incident will certainly put some strain on their relationship.

Seattle Mariners catcher Kelly Shoppach lost his bat during a swing and a miss in Friday’s spring training game against the Chicago Cubs, sending his bat flying into the crowd where a fan picked up the bat in the aisle…and walked away with it.
The Mariners probably would have tried to make an effort to get Shoppach’s bat back, but the fan never stopped walking, so they never had the chance.

If you thought the Miami Marlins had trouble putting fans in the stands in years past, wait until you get a load of what they are doing this year. Now that the team has decided to fire Ozzie Guillen and trade Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle to the Toronto Blue Jays, interest in the upcoming season seems lower than ever. Aside from Giancarlo Stanton, there isn’t much that is going to inspire Marlins fans (if there are any) to attend a game. However, we have some good news for those Marlins fans who actually enjoy attending games at the brand new ballpark the team just built in Miami. If you purchase a ticket to the Marlins home opener against the Atlanta Braves on April 8th, you will receive a ticket to any other game of your choice — on the house. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, the Marlins ran a promotion last year where fans who purchased a season-ticket package would be entered into a lottery for a chance to score a ticket to the first ever game at the new Marlins Park. Now that

New York Yankees Ichiro Suzuki gave fans yet another reason to believe it’s going to that kind of year.
Although he walked away with not even a scratch, Suzuki totaled his Range Rover near George M. Steinbrenner Field on Saturday in Tampa, Florida.

When the New York Yankees gave A-Rod a 10 year deal worth 275 million dollars they made him one of the highest paid baseball players in the history of the game. Little did they know that Rodriguez would be part of one the of biggest lists of Performance Enhancing Drugs list that was just released hours ago. A-Rod already has his own problems with his hip surgery. Reports were saying he could miss the entire 2013 season. A-Rod was paid 30 million dollars in 2012. That is 238,000 dollars per game. Rodriguez just punched the New York Yankees in the face. He admitted using banned substances in the past and says he has never used them since coming to the Yankees, yet his name is top on the list that was released a day ago. How much is enough? Wasn’t A-Rod happy enough with the life style he lives? The guy had it all and now is on the verge of losing it. If you think about the 161 million the Yankees already paid A-Rod, you hope the guy was smart enough to put some away for a rainy day….

BALTIMORE — Earl Weaver, the fiery Hall of Fame manager, who won 1,480 games with the team, has died at 82, the Baltimore Orioles have announced. The Duke of Earl, as he was affectionately known in Baltimore, took the Orioles into the World Series four times over 17 seasons but won only one title, in 1970. His .583 winning percentage ranks fifth among managers who served 10 or more seasons in the 20th century. Weaver was a salty-tounged manager who preferred to wait for a three-run homer rather than manufacture a run with a stolen base or a bunt. While some baseball purists argued that strategy, no one could dispute the results. Photo via Facebook/Baltimore Orioles

PHOENIX Now we know the Diamondbacks will trade Justin Upton. They already have, only to have Upton reject a potential deal that would have sent him to Seattle for a package of top prospects last week.
The move continued an ongoing theme. The D-backs spent a lot of time at the winter meetings in trade discussions, and they would have included Upton in the right package for shortstops Jurickson Profar (Texas) or Andrelton Simmons (Atlanta). Both were, and remain to this point, untouchable.
So where do the D-backs go from here? The Up-town signage was removed from the right field area at Chase Field last week, a move the D-backs say Upton requested. It is fair to say that Upton has never been comfortable in the marketing spotlight. The timing was curious, however, and the D-backs certainly will keep talking, now with Rangers third base prospect Mike Olt a possible target.
Because of an outfield excess, it seems a foregone conclusion that the D-backs will part with Upton, Jason Kubel or Gerardo Parra before
