The New York Yankees have contacted free-agent pitcher C.J. Wilson, according to GM Brian Cashman. Wilson, who has pitched for the Texas Rangers since 2005, is coming off his second World Series appearance and posted a 16-7 record with a 2.94 ERA in 2011. Wilson, 30, is one of the prized free agents this offseason. Cashman did not say if an offer was made.The lefthander’s agent told ESPN that his clients’ personality would “thrive” in New York City. Reports out of New York have also mentioned that the Yankees are looking at veteran pitcher Roy Oswalt, Mark Buehrle, and Edwin Jackson.
