FINALLY….the streak is over. Jo-Jo Reyes, congratulations you are now just any regular, terrible MLB Pitcher who should be in the minor leagues or an international league but are in the big’s thanks to non-juiced hitters and the ending of the steroid era.
Okay enough babbling and judging on my part, let’s get into what happened.
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes snapped his streak of consecutive starts without a victory at 28 on Monday night at Rogers Centre.
Reyes earned his first victory since June 13, 2008, with the first complete game of his career. He allowed just one run on eight hits and four walks while striking out four in Toronto’s 11-1 victory over Cleveland.
Reyes’ infamous streak tied the Major League record set by Oakland’s Matt Keough in 1978-79 and Cliff Curtis with the Boston Braves in 1910-11.
